Hi, I am Nancy Kroonenberg, HS Asst. Principal from the American School in Japan, Tokyo. We have a 5-member HS team and 2-member ES team attending ASB Unplugged. We want to learn more about how technology impacts student learning, esp. through a 1 to 1 program which we hope to launch in grades 9 and 10 in the school year 2011-2012.

I'm Ginger Jewell and I'm with KAUST Schools in Saudi Arabia. I did my first one to one program back in 2000 in the US. In my current position, we are in a different spot as we built a new city with a new school and had to open with everything in place, a very different experience. We had no faculty to plan with so we hit the ground running and I want to hear other experiences to see what we can take away that will be helpful.

Hi, My name is Renee Crawley. I am from Tucson, Arizona and teaching 5th grade in Hyderabad, Inda. I am in the midst of getting a Master's Degree in Educational Technology from Northern Arizona University. I am Master Teacher for Intel Teach to the Future and I love technology! At home, in Tucson, I was the computer trainer for my elementary school for 15 years. I've taught overseas for 5 years, 4 years in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. I have no experience in the 1-1 program, but want to learn all I can. My husband, Michael Crawley is the Elementary ICT teacher for ISH (school in Hyderabad)and was the elementary ICT teacher in Abu Dhabi. He is also pursuing his Master's Degree in Educational Technology. My husband and I will be the only ones attending this part of the conference from our school.

My name is Dianna Pratt and I am currently an 8th grade science teacher at Singapore American School but I will be moving into a new role next year as a Technology Integration Specialist in the HS. I think we are bringing over 25 participants to the conference! Not sure how many to the pre-conference. Our HS will be 1-1 next year with every student(over 1200) bringing their own laptop. I am looking forward to being in the workshop as I move into my new position and understand more clearly my role to help make our first year a success.

Hi all,
I'm Mike Dunlop, the director of technology at Riffa Views International School in Bahrain. We have a 1:1 program in place from grades 1-6, and are adding more grades every year. We have a solid hardware solution, but are still developing policies and procedures to make the most of our setup - this will be the focus of my visit to Mumbai.

Hi,
I'm Shabbi Luthra, IT Director at ASB, the school that plays host to this conference. We are a laptop/tablet program across the school - This year we will complete seven years of our tablet program and nine years of a laptop program. We've come a long way from when we started. We still have miles to go. . . so this is an excellent learning opportunity for us as we continue to evaluate our program.
We are looking forward to welcoming all the Un-Plugged participants. We hope this conference will be a fantastic opportunity for all of us to learn from each other and make connections with each other so we can collaboratively learn and grow without reinventing the wheel.
See you all in a few weeks.
Shabbi

Hi everyone,
I am a parent at ASB with 2 children is the ES. I am a qualified Post-16 teacher, and have taught Information Technology and English within the Further Education Sector in the UK for 7 years prior to coming to India 2 years ago. I specialized in teaching Young Offenders and Mature students as part of the government's Basic Skills Strategy within local communities.
I now volunteer with the PTA at the school and am a member of the parent arm of the Tech Leadership Team, both of which have helped fuel my fascination for emerging technology and gadgets and a passion to learn more about the role IT can play in the 21st Century classroom. I hope to use all of the knowledge and skills developed during my time at ASB and Unplugged to further integrate IT into my teaching, with a firm belief that the incredible extent of today's mobile technology can help take learning deep within local communities enriching and changing lives.
Look forward to meeting you all!
Deb
