| XO laptops are loved, but use is limited |

| Robert Johnson has two regular computers at home, and an XO laptop he received during his fourth-grade year at Hemphill Elementary School. When asked which computer he prefers, there is no pause before his answer. "Is there any competition?" he says, pointing to the rugged plastic green and white computer known as the XO. "Name any computer that's portable like this one is. I take this thing out of town with me." Robert, now in fifth grade at Hemphill, says he uses the laptop to play games and chat with classmates. He also uses it to get on the Internet, but not so much at school. |
