New page

Irc Proxy ? Ways To Connect Discussed

There are many network systems where people can share certain files and befriend new people from across the globe. IRC is one amongst these systems of networks. Your desktop computers or laptops connect to it so people all over the world can come across new people, discuss with them topics of their interest and share files with each other. An ?IRC client? program is required for you if you need to use this network system. To enable you to connect to a server, you will need to configure your IRC client program settings. Configuration requires you enter in the address of your server, especially if you proxy server on your office or home network.

For connecting to IRC through an [http://www.proxysecurity.com/irc-proxy.php irc proxy], you will need to follow certain steps, and your system will be configured for the program. Open up mIRC, click the tools option and then you need to select ?Options? from the drop-down menu to set up irc proxy. You will see a plus sign which can be located next to the ?Connect? option. From the options that drops open, you will need to select ?Firewall?.

The ?Firewall support? has a drop-down menu from where you can select a few options. If your proxy server is used for web browsing only, then none of the options from drop-down menu can be supported. These options may range from hosting a server, sending and receiving files via DDC. Other than these you can select either the two or none of these. In certain cases these options are not supported, but if they are and you are not sure which one to choose, then you can select the ?None? option.

If your proxy server supports the SOCKS protocol, then you need to select it by using the ?Protocol? drop-down menu. Otherwise, if there is a HTTP proxy is being used for browsing the web, then you need to select ?Proxy?. In the window that appears before you, you will see a ?Hostname? text box and a ?Port? box. Enter in the proxy server address in the Hostname box, and in the Port box, type in the port number for enabling the irc proxy. In certain cases, it is applicable that you type in the username and password which you use to log in to the proxy server.

Lastly, you need to save all these settings to configure your browser to support irc proxy.
MattaFarrer977
