This kind of continuum can easily run from sensation play and also light bondage to bullwhips, suspension, as well as more. Still, these practices are confined to what is safe, sane as well as consensual – that the risk of potential harm is minimized, that all involved are capable of understanding the consequences, and that all involved agree without coercion or deception. Even when a particular BDSM encounter (or “picture”) appears to be coercive or cruel, it may be negotiated as well as prepared to appear that method, with the bottom or submissive having a safeword to indicate when to cease, and also using the top or dominant providing nurturing and also supportive aftercare when the picture is done.
