Is the reason that there has been an increase in obesity as a result of the reality that adults in today’s society are lazy? Are all of us just a bunch of lethargic couch pot...

New page

Am I Lazy?

Is the reason that there has been an increase in obesity as a result of the reality that adults in today’s society are lazy? Are all of us just a bunch of lethargic couch potatoes that do not do something but sit around and eat all of the time? I say no. Rather we're a item of our revolutionary, technological society. I am not saying we are able to blame technology, rather I'm saying that as with our youth, the adults are also a reflection in the society that surrounds them. It isn’t an excuse, but it is actually a thought I pondered according to my typical day.

I get up inside the morning, not for the sound of an aggravating buzz, beep, or the blaring from the radio. These alarms would get my blood racing proper from the start off, but I'd hit snooze to stop the insanity. Then it would take place once more, and once more, the snooze bar. Soon after a couple of occasions of this I'm would now be late for operate, rush towards the shower if I even had time, rush towards the auto, and speed off to work. Not in today’s world. Instead, I wake to the soothing sound of the ocean on my Homedics radio and slowly wake peacefully. No blood pumping, no elevated heart rate. I just have a good and slow, quick awakening. Subsequent I head towards the shower exactly where I put turn on my shower CD player and listen to something that I appreciate although I take my time letting the water virtually run cold.

Throughout my toweling off and finding dressed period of the morning, I can hear my coffee being made on the coffee maker that is set to make me a cup just about every morning with me not having to complete a factor. When I sit and drink my coffee pondering the day ahead of me, I notice that it's virtually gone, so I gently push a button on my crucial ring that begins my auto and gets it good and warm for me prior to I even get to it. I can then take my leisurely stroll to my automobile, get in, and have a nice peaceful drive to function (barring any unforeseen road rage). Nothing at all like ahead of when I had to run to my auto due to the fact I was late most of the time as a result of the annoyance of my alarm or run mainly because it was cold and then get in and shake and shiver for 10 minutes till it warmed up.

Once at function I discover myself taking out my PDA and seeing what's on my agenda for the day. Nope, no much more flipping by way of pages of my pocket calendar or scheduler. My work day is simple and uneventful, but rather than having to run back and forth by way of the workplace to obtain messages to every person, I can now just send an interoffice email using the push of a button. When it can be time to leave, I once more get started my car from my office and drive dwelling.

Arriving at house, I put in a microwave dinner that doesn’t have to be chopped up, cut up, stirred, blended, kneaded, poked, or even prodded. Push some buttons and 5 minutes later I am sitting in front of the Tv watching the shows I recorded on my cable’s digital recorder and eating my 5 minute, nuked meal. Would I have performed this previously? The answer is no, due to the fact I'd have had to physically make some thing to eat, and there wouldn’t be anything on Television worth watching, so I would eat and go do a thing like yard work, clean the home, play with the kids, whatever, just some thing else to occupy the time. Oops, when I was consuming, I got some crumbs on the floor after which dropped some far more on the way back towards the kitchen. Oh nicely, I will just push the button on my robot vacuum cleaner and let it clean the complete floor as it is preprogrammed to do.

Finally, my day is coming to an finish and rather than undertaking a thing actually constructive before I go to bed, I cannot resist the chance to surf the web for slightly whilst, perhaps chat to some pals or relatives, and check my e mail. Besides, I have to plug in my PDA for the personal computer anyway. Now my lazy or technologically dysfunctional day is complete.

This complete story brings me back to my question that started the entire thing. Am I lazy or am I just a item of my environment. It really is this author’s opinion that I'm both. Years ago, even the simple items like producing the dinner could be physical exercise, but now it is actually also quick because it really is carried out for you in a box. Everything currently is easy and most adults are on the heavy side, for the reason that things are much easier and don’t take as much power. That does not mean we in society are lazy, it signifies we don’t have to exert ourselves as a lot to achieve the each day routines which might be needed to total the day. However, I could stop by the health club on my way property, or go for a walk after dinner, so I'm also lazy also. The world wide web just pulls me in night soon after night and I cannot appear to create myself do anything else after dinner. Shame on you technology for holding that gun to my head!

Useful resources:
[http://www.best-tips-to-lose-weight.com/best-weight-loss-workout-tips/ lose weight]
Sat, 25 Feb 2012 20:02:57 GMT ThaoBushman784 http://www.aalf.org/wiki/index.php?title=User_talk:ThaoBushman784
