School seeks help to cross digital divide
Posted by: Susan Einhorn

Thomas Steinmann wants to be a doctor, and he does not want the digital divide to get in the way of his dream.

The Hastings Intermediate head boy believes his future will be more focused on computers rather than book work. The 12-year-old already does a lot of homework on the computer, but realises not everyone in his school is as lucky.

\"The world is moving fast, and the unfortunate thing is some people are getting left behind,\" he says.

Today he will tell Hastings district councillors why learning is more engaging and fun on digital devices.
