| Two sides to take-home tech in area schools |

| With technology becoming an increasing point of emphasis in education, the number of school districts offering 1-to-1 initiatives (that is, programs in which a laptop or tablet is provided to each student) is growing. In a recent Department of Elementary and Secondary Education survey, 34 out of 224 districts said they have a 1-to-1 computing program of some kind, and a further 106 said they plan one within the next five years. |
