Posted by: Justina Spencer

Berkeley- A team of UC Berkeley undergraduates has won a grant from the One Laptop Per Child Association to distribute 100 laptops to children in a small village in Uganda this summer.

The proposal was one of 30 selected from more than 220 submissions from students from around the world. The grant will equip student teams with 100 low-cost laptops, a server, a $10,000 operating budget, and a 10-day training session in Kigali, Rwanda.
