Netbooks aim to give middle schoolers 'best education'
Posted by: Susan Einhorn

Fairfax School District's middle schoolers are wired and ready to learn, Superintendent Michael Coleman said.

About 760 of them each received a Netbook -- notebook computers -- Wednesday that they'll use inside and outside the classroom to read textbooks online, turn in homework and email questions to teachers any time of the day, among other things. Each Netbook comes with a wireless internet card for use anywhere.

And teachers will be able to converse with parents, and vice-versa.
