Fewer than one in five travellers go on to secondary school

A report by the county's Race Equality Team has found while 83 per cent of youngsters of school age complete their primary education, fewer than one in five then go on to study past the age of 11. The report said: "There are a significant number of children not transferring into secondary schools, which reflects the national picture."
